How to Make Crepe Paper Ranunculus

The Cricut Maker rotary blade cuts crepe paper beautifully. So I cut petals to make a crepe paper ranunculus and turned it into a corsage for Mother’s Day. Read to the end for an awesome Cricut giveaway too!  (some links affiliate)

Here are the supplies you’ll need to make the Crepe Paper Ranunculus:
Crepe paper sheets in dark green, light green, light yellow, light pink and medium pink
Glue gun
Cricut Maker with rotary blade
Blue, light grip mat
Small scraper
Flat back pin
Small piece of felt

Open the ranunculus Design Space project.

Cut each group of petals and the leaf in the correct colors. 

Peel away the extra crepe paper, then carefully remove petals from the mat.

Use the small scraper to gently give each petal a bit of curl.

Cut a scrap of light green crepe paper, about 1/2 inch x 2 inches and roll up into a ball. 

Use hot glue to put the ball inside the smallest green flower, and push the petals around it.

Repeat with the next larger sizes of green flowers.

Then glue down into the smallest yellow flower, and repeat with the larger flowers, then light pink. Keep pressing petals in towards the center.

For the last two dark pink flowers, glue them so that the direction of the petal curl is down, instead of in towards the center of the flower. 

Add a bit of hot glue as needed in places to glue the petals a little higher up.

Glue the leaf to the bottom of the flower.

Layer a piece of felt over the flat back of the pin and use hot glue to attach to the back of the flower.

And now you’ve got a beautiful corsage for your mom, grandma, or you!
