Looking for project ideas to make with a Cricut Explore Air 2? I’ve gone back through my archives and pulled out some of my favorite Explore Air 2 crafts. Feel free to copy them exactly, or use them as inspiration to make your own!
Things to make with Cricut Explore Air 2
Decorated Notebook Covers
Blank notebooks are great for party favors or gifts because you can customize them for anything using a Cricut Explore Air 2.
I loved trying four different techniques to decorate these plain notebooks, and the Cricut cut all the materials.
I used stencil material, adhesive vinyl, iron-on and patterned iron-on. I got four different looks that all match the same theme, and were all made with the same machine!
Makeup Bag with Iron-on Vinyl
Makeup bags are super gifts because they can be personalized, and filled with fun beauty goodies.
This zipper bag is made of canvas, making it perfect for adding iron-on vinyl cut with the Cricut Explore Air 2.
Setting the 2x speed means I can whip one up in no time.
Beach Hat
Looking for the perfect addition to your beach wardrobe? Just make your own!
You can curve the text right in Design Space, and then cut out the iron-on vinyl.
Customize the color and the phrase - see this post for a great list of phrases.
Cork Boards with Iron-on Vinyl
I can only imagine how much I would have loved cork boards like this in my junior high locker. Now you can make your own for your kids (gasp!) or for your own craft or office space.
The Cricut neon iron-on vinyl is perfect for this design, and the Explore Air 2 cuts it beautifully.
Vinyl on an Umbrella
A lot of people wonder what type of vinyl should go on an umbrella. I decided to try 3 types, and let you know the winner.
With this experiment, I could easily switch the dial between materials, or keep it on "custom" and choose everything from the menu in Design Space.
Guess which vinyl stuck the best, and read the post to see if you're right!
Geometric Fox Art
Using only triangle shapes, build an adorable fox perfect for any woodland themed party or room.
The Cricut Explore Air 2 easily cut all the different materials used for this fox.
Wood grain faux leather, cardstock and vinyl give it great texture!
Funny Laundry Room Sign
“LAUNDRY It’s all fun and games until you have to put it away.” You know what I’m talking about, right?
I used permanent vinyl to stick on this blank metal sign from the craft store. It sums up my thoughts on laundry perfectly!
The Cricut Explore Air 2 opens up all kinds of possibilities for custom signs in your house.
Infusible Ink Coasters
Cricut opens up so many possibilities for creating custom gifts. You can personalize items with names of course, but you can also create gifts tailored to someone’s interests and skills.
Infusible Ink works great with the Explore Air 2 - it can cut the transfer sheets, or use the pens or markers to draw on paper and then transfer over to the Infusible Ink blank.
For these coasters, I made a set with two solid colors and two with a patterned background.
If you have a Cricut machine that you just haven’t taken out of the box yet, hopefully one of these will jump out at you and you can just start making.
And if something goes wrong – that’s ok. Even though we hate to hear it, sometimes a mess up is the best way to learn. The best way to feel comfortable with the machine is to make a few things with it.
