Have you read The Night Circus? Did you like it? I loved the story, the atmosphere, and all the delicious details.

Cover of The Night Circus

“The circus arrives without warning.

No announcements precede it, no paper notices on downtown posts and billboards, no mentions or advertisements in local newspapers. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not.

The towering tents are striped in white and black, no golds and crimsons to be seen. No color at all, save for the neighboring trees and the grass of the surrounding fields. Black-and-white stripes on grey sky; countless tents of varying shapes and sizes, with an elaborate wrought-iron fence encasing them in a colorless world. Even what little ground is visible from outside is black or white, painted or powdered, or treated with some other circus trick.”

Since I like it so much, I went out on a search then to find more books similar to the Night Circus, and here’s what I found.

Books to read if you like The Night Circus

Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor
The All Souls Trilogy  by Deborah Harkness
The Magicians Trilogy by Lev Grossman
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
The Paper Magician Series by Charlie N. Holberg

I’m not sure which magical novel I’ll pick up next. Have you read any of these–can you give your recommendation? Or if you are also looking for books like The Night Circus, which one do you think you’ll add to your reading list?
