A couple of weeks ago during spring break I took a trip with my kids down to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn, OR. In the 6 years that we’ve lived around here we’ve never been, so it was definitely time. Look at all the pretty pictures we took!
Are my kids the only ones who get suddenly thirsty and starving as soon as you leave the house? Since I knew we’d be walking around for a while, we stopped at Fred Meyer before we even got on the freeway.
I picked up water bottles, crackers and Tree Top Apple Sauce pouches. (I love that Tree Top is a Washington based, grower-owned co-op!) They’re made with 100% USA grown apples and are great for snacking on the go. Since the ground was pretty muddy we didn’t want to sit down to eat.
There are lots of varieties, including strawberry and cinnamon–the flavors we picked up.
We took our dog Zoey with us, and she loved walking around the farm. I can’t believe how big they’re all getting!
The weather was pretty much perfect. It wasn’t very sunny, but we didn’t get rained on either. It actually made great photography conditions. It was so fun to watch the kids get so excited about all the different colors and varieties of tulips.
They were asking questions about the flowers, how they grow, and how there are so many different kinds. With the theme of “Raising Good Apples”, Tree Top is partnering with the National Gardening Association’s KidsGardening.org to help educate kids on gardening. For every box of Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouches purchased through 5/31 Tree Top will donate $1 to help KidsGardening.org to help build and grow youth gardens.
And finally, Tree Top wants to give a Kids Gardening Kit to one of YOU! The kit consists of: “My Gardening Journal”, Red Tubrug pail, Kids gardening gloves, Watering can, Soft touch hand tool set, Favorite Five Sprouting Seeds and Tree Top Apple Sauce Pouches.
There are three simple ways to enter in this Rafflecopter form. Good luck!!

How pretty, I really love lilacs!
Every spring I wish I had planted thousands of tulips and every fall I forget. Maybe this fall.
The Tulip Festival is right around the corner from me and I still haven't been. You certainly captured some beautiful photos. – All mom's know to travel with snacks. – I pull away from the house and ten minutes later someone is "starving to death." I like these because they are healthy and mess free! Yay!
I love tulips! What gorgeous photos. The deer always eat my tulips before I have much time to enjoy them, and then the chipmunks dig up the bulbs. I have no idea if I'll have any this year. The snow is still here, so hopefully I'll know in a couple weeks!
Look at all those tulips! We have a similar festival here in Northwest Iowa… does my little Dutch heart good. =)
I didnt realize you live close by! Waving hello from Aloha! Love the tulips!
I didn't know you had a blog! Fun! We've lived in Vancouver for a about 6 years and haven't ever been to the tulip festival. Maybe next year!
