Right when my kids went back to school in December, I painted both of the girls’ rooms. Since then I’ve been slowly adding some decorations and custom stuff for them. I asked Emily what kind of signs or quotes she might want.
She knew right away she wanted something from The Princess Bride and from Harry Potter. This sign simply says “INCONCEIVABLE” but it really makes a statement!
I started by cutting a piece of 1/4 inch plywood to be about 15 inches wide and 9 inches tall. I painted the board white and cut frame pieces and stained them.
Using my Cricut I cut a stencil out of vinyl. I thought I might sand the paint to distress it, but decided against it because I ended up liking the nice clean look. So in this case I could have just cut the word from vinyl and applied it to the sign. But that just goes to show there are always a few options when designing a wood sign.

When all the paint was dry I used wood glue and clamps to attach the frame pieces and let it dry overnight. I was sent a sample pack of felt balls from The Felt Pod and picked out 7 perfect rainbow colors to add to the top of the sign. I used a needle and white threads to sew right through the center of each ball. Then I glued the string ends around the back of the sign.
What single word would you put on a sign like this?
