Today’s post is fun and tasty, because I’m showing off Marie Callender‘s® Dessert Pies, a homemade caramel sauce to drizzle on top and a cute quiz to give family and friends who come to visit for the holidays.
Whether you know you’re hosting a crowd this winter, someone makes a surprise visit, or it’s just your immediate family at home on the weekend, easy and delicious desserts are always a priority. For starters, let’s look at the pies. They’re a great way to “share the joy” because there’s a perfect pie for every taste.
I picked up a Southern Pecan, a Lattice Apple and a Pumpkin, plus Reddi-Wip® to top them of course, all from my Walmart down the street.
The prep work is all taken care of, so all you do is pop them in the oven (always like to cover the crust with foil to make sure it doesn’t get too brown)
and let the sweet smells fill your kitchen while you visit with guests and get your beautiful presentation ready.
You can make a lovely pie stand in just a matter of minutes with a gold charger plate and a wide wooden candle stick. Hot glue the candle stick to the bottom of the charger. Perfect and easy, right?
While the pies cook, make the caramel sauce. Then they can both cool off at the same time.
Buttery Salted Caramel Sauce:
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup cream
1/4 tsp salt
1 TBS butter
1 tsp vanilla
In a heavy bottomed pan, heat sugar and water until it boils (first picture). Then let it keep cooking *without* stirring, until the sugar starts to darken, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and slowly pour in cream and stir (it will bubble a lot) After stirring for 1 minute, add salt, butter and vanilla and stir til all combined (second picture). Pour into a heat safe container to continue cooling.
When it’s finally time for dessert, pass out the PIE-sonality quiz to everyone (DOWNLOAD THE QUIZ HERE) There are two quizzes on each sheet, so cut them in half. (Glue them to colored cardstock to make them even more festive.) Then the second page of the download is the result guide. You only need to print one of those.
Serve pie with caramel sauce and Reddi-Wip® and have fun with the quiz while you enjoy dessert. Use paper plates for easy clean up.
Which pies will you make sure to have on hand for easy holiday entertaining?

How fun is this quiz?! I got Mostly D’s—You are Pumpkin Pecan Streusel. You are adventurous, always up for something new and don’t like to settle. Mostly true, too! I love pie in all flavors and your caramel sauce looks amazing. [client]
