I got some great news over the weekend, and today I get to share with you.  I was picked to be a contestant on season 4 of American Crafter at Naptime Crafters.  I’m more than a little excited about it!

I’m up against some tough competition, but I’ll get to show you my first project on Friday when voting opens.  Wish me luck!

It was my duct tape boots that landed me my spot. A few of you were curious how they’d hold up (I was too) so I thought I’d provide a little update.

I’ve worn them several times since they got their makeover, and I’m happy to say they’re doing quite well!  There are a couple of places where the tape is getting a little worn, but because of the pattern, it’s not noticeable when I’m wearing them.  They’re still not headed to the trash yet.  Cool, right?

Wanna know something else cool?  The lovely folks at Shurtec (makers of Duck Tape and Frog Tape as well!) happened upon my made-over boots, loved them, and sent me a whole box of duct tape goodies to play with!

One of my sisters was visiting last weekend and brought this bag with her.  Let’s just say it’s seen better days, and really, anyone visiting my house should know they’re not safe from me trying out a project on them.

The corners were showing some wear, and the straps were kind of hanging on by some threads.  I reinforced them with some black tape and then covered the whole strap and each corner section with zebra tape.

Ta-da!
