Gold Glitter Sequin Pumpkin | Crafting in the Rain

If one sparkly thing is good, then two sparkly things are better, right?  These pretty little pumpkins are topped with gold glitter and gold sequins and they’re so easy to make.

Start with any kind of pumpkin.  Flatter ones will look a little better as they have more surface area on top to cover.  I bought these 3 for $1 total at Walmart right after Halloween.

You’ll also need:
White paint
Mod Podge
Paint brush
Gold glitter
Gold sequins

Start by painting the pumpkins white.  Use a spray primer first, or a spray paint with primer in it.  Those pumpkin skins are pretty glossy.

When the paint is dry, brush Mod Podge on the top of the pumpkin, but not the stem.  Pour glitter over the pumpkin, shake off excess and let dry.  I like to spread a brown grocery bag on the table first, then have a piece of paper under my project so I can fold it and easily dump extra glitter back into the container.

To seal the glitter on, brush Mod Podge again, covering all the glitter.  It will dry clear and still be sparkly underneath. While it’s still wet, sprinkle some sequins over the top, pressing down lightly with the paint brush handle to help them stick.

I hope you see some of these in your future!  Let me know if you like them, and if you’re a fan of glitter in your house, or only in theory 🙂

These are so pretty! I think I may just do a few in different sizes. Thanks!
