There’s a common misconception that we never get any sun where we live. Truth be told, after the especially rainy winter and spring we’ve just had here in the Northwest, I was starting to believe that myself! But I promise, we still do need sunscreen here. Besides, harmful UV rays can damage skin even through clouds, and we do love being at the park or going hiking.

So today I’m talking about Blue Lizard® Australian Sunscreen and my cute cooler I just decorated with vinyl. Now we’re extra ready for picnics this summer.

The next time you’re at Walmart, pick up sunscreen, a new cooler if you need one, and whatever you want to take on your picnic. I made sure to get the Sensitive and Face varieties. Face is oil-free, and all formulations are mineral-based containing Zinc Oxide.

Join iBotta and earn $4.00 when you purchase Blue Lizard® Australian Sunscreen – Sensitive, 5 oz. bottle only.

Have you tried this sunscreen before? Blue Lizard® products have a unique zinc oxide formulation and provide broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection (SPF30+). It’s been dermatologist recommended for over 15 years! And here’s something that your kids will find fun – the bottles actually change color when they’re exposed to UV sunlight.

Remember what I was saying about cloudy days before? The above picture is in my house, and the next picture is outside – with cloud cover!

Moving on to the cooler, I cleaned it up a little, after being in the shed all winter. Next I designed a vinyl cutout. I used outdoor vinyl because it’s a little sticker, and it will hold up a little better with, well, being outdoors! (get the design to cut here)

Use transfer tape to apply the vinyl onto the cooler and rub it really well so that it sticks to the bumpy side of the cooler.

So even though you might think our entire summer looks like this where the gray sky and gray sand kind of all blend into each other —

We have plenty of days like this at the park or the river, and you can bet we’ll have our sunscreen on!

What summer activities do you love? Don’t forget your ibotta offer on Blue Lizard® Australian Sunscreen!
