One of the best ways to beat the January blues is to make stuff for Valentine’s Day. This adorable Owl Valentine Basket is a project found in Cricut Design Space, and it’s super easy. I’m thinking they’d make great place cards for a Valentine’s dinner.

(some links may be affiliate)
Light blue cardstock — main basket piece and two owl backgrounds (would be cute in light pink too)White cardstock — for the handle (or make this match the basket color if you want)
Silver glitter vinyl — for the layer with two little circles and two little triangles to see the eyes and ears through)Gray cardstock — for two owl background piecesPink felt — for the beaks and heart shaped wing

Open the Owl Valentine Basket and cut out all the pieces. When I cut the felt, I used the “Felt, wool” setting and used the rotary blade. (Read this post all about how to cut felt with a Cricut Maker.) Make sure also to change the setting when you cut out the glitter vinyl layer (this could also be plain white cardstock, but the glitter makes it fun.)
Here are all the pieces you’ll have.

irst, apply the glitter vinyl to the gray background. The glue to the blue background.

Fold up all the score lines of the basket and glue in the layered piece you just made.

Use hot glue to glue up the sides of the basket. Add felt beak and wings, and glue in the handle.
Fill with treats, and personalize with a name tag if you want.
