Welcome to the June edition of Make a Splash. This month I assigned everyone to work with pool noodles. There are oodles of ideas around on the internet, and I think you’ll like these too.
Reg (Lola’s Mini Homes)
Art and Flower Vase
One is art on canvas, I sliced the noodle and cut the flower in half and made a pattern with it. The other it a vase of flowers.
I never would have guessed that canvas had pool noodle on it–great way to use the design! She also has a YouTube channel: gingerlola2011 Check it out!
Jen (Four Marrs and One Venus)
Pool Noodle Frame
I had a fun time trying to come up with a “noodle” project that was a bit on the different side. My boys room is done in the Beach theme, and my youngest is obsessed with Sharks at the moment. So this was the perfect project to create. First I created the Shark Art, using the trace, imprint, and paint technique. Then I measured the sides of the wood, and cut the noodle to fit. Slicing down the noodle, but not entirely so the that noodle slips over the side and stays in place. A Fun, Funky way to frame Wall Art!
Love the idea of using it as a frame, and it totally matches the theme!
Sarah (Repeat Crafter Me)
Pool Noodle Telescope
I don’t remember how I first “found” Sarah, but I got to know her better during the One Crafty Contest, and she did awesome! I asked if I could share this project, because I love how she transformed this noodle for a pirate party!
Steph (that’s me!)
Pool Noodle Stamped Pillowcase
I sliced a pool noodle with a serrated knife to make the flower stamp, then used scissors to trim a piece into a circle. Then my girls stamped white pillowcases in the pattern they wanted.
So thanks to these ladies for playing with me this month. If you want in on the challenge, send me an email and I’ll get you on my list!
