Day 16: Ask Their Advice
Sometimes my kids just want to know that they’re being heard. And that I trust them to make good choices or have good ideas. This evening my 8 year old has a little party to go to where she can wear a costume. I’ve let her come up with the idea and how to make it, and I’ll help her with the finishing touch tonight. It’s not something that will blaze trails across Pinterest, but she’s excited about it, and that’s what’s important 🙂
What I am kind of excited to show you today though is this art piece that I just made for my husband. You remember his camper trailer office in the backyard, right? And how we also have pet goats? He’s had this idea that he wanted some kind of silhouette or pencil sketch of a city skyline with a camper and goat right down in the middle (almost like the Up house) I may not be great with freehand, but I sure know how to fire up my Cougar!
The building shapes and camper are from Lettering Delights, and the little goat is just an image I found online. I cut them out of black cardstock, cut white backgrounds for the two buildings in front so the back buildings wouldn’t show through the windows, and I glued everything down on an 8×10 white cardstock so it will fit in a frame.
What do you think? I hope he likes it!
