This post is brought to you by Rockwell. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This project has been on my to-do list for a while. Probably since we moved into this house, so about a year. I finally got around to doing it, and wouldn’t you know, I wish I’d done it months ago. It was so easy!
Our master bathroom is quite big, but the actual potty room is quite small. It’s nice having it closed off, but there’s literally only room for the toilet in there. My “extra TP storage” has just been a small basket on the floor with a couple extra rolls in there, but I knew I ultimately wanted that up off the floor.
So I built a box shelf to install up on the wall. And you can too.
Supplies:
1×6 cut to (2) 12.5 inches and (2) 11 inches
1×4 cut to 11 inches
wood stain (I used Minwax dark walnut)
rags
1 1/4 inch pocket hole screws
Tools:
(affiliate links)
Kreg Jig
Rockwell 20V MaxLithium drill and driver
Start by drilling 2 pocket holes into each end of the 11 inch pieces of wood. (4 holes total on each piece)
Then drill screws into the pocket holes and into the longer pieces of wood (pocket holes will face the outside of the box).
There are a couple of options on how to hang the shelf. I used a French cleat, so we cut the 1×4 down the middle at a 45 degree angle. One piece gets attached inside the top of the box.
The other gets screwed to the wall, then the top piece slides over it and holds it in place. I talk more about French cleats here in this post about the framed pegboard organizer. You can also just drill the 1×4 to your wall (use two screws, and at least one must go into a stud or a drywall anchor.) Rest the top inside of the box shelf on it and attach the shelf to the 1×4 with a screw from the top.
I kind of love having my very own drill, and with the two rechargeable batteries, I’ll never have to wait around on a dead one. It just might be the perfect thing to pick up for someone for Christmas, or to add to your own wish list!

Entered! I love your TP box! If I win the drill I just may have to make one for our small commode area :-)
