Halloween Hoop Art

(some links may be affiliate)

If you love hoop art, and you love Halloween, this Cricut project is the perfect one for you. In fact, every post in this week’s Craft Lightning is a Halloween project made with a Cricut Explore or Maker machine. So many good ideas!

I created this file for a cute little embroidery hoop and you can find it here in Design Space.
The sizing is for a 4” hoop, but you could resize it to fit a bigger hoop also.

Supplies for making this Halloween Hoop Art

Embroidery hoop, 4 inches
Gray cotton fabric
Violet iron-on foil
Silver glitter iron-on vinyl
Black felt
Cricut Maker
Pink fabric mat
Green standard mat

Making the Halloween Hoop Art

Open the Design Space file and cut the following pieces.
Scalloped circle: Black felt on green mat with rotary blade, Felt setting
Circle: Gray fabric on pink mat with rotary blade, Cotton fabric setting
Trick or Treat: Purple iron-on foil on green mat with fine-point blade, Iron-on foil setting (mirror image!)
OR: Silver glitter iron-on on green mat with fin point blade, Glitter Iron-on setting (mirror image!)

First, take just a minute to be amazed at how great the Maker cut out a fabric circle and the detailed felt piece.

Set the embroidery hoop on the gray circle to help with positioning the vinyl pieces. Apply heat and pressure with the iron and peel off the plastic layer when cool.

Center the gray fabric in the embroidery hoop and tighten the screw to secure. Glue and trim excess.

Use hot glue to attach the black felt to the embroidery hoop and it’s all done!

See everything the Cricut Maker can cut here.
