Using the Cricut Grid Lines

The Cricut Minute #23 This is another tip to remember and use in Design Space – you can use the guide lines and the x and y axis numbers to create accurate files that cut or print to just the dimensions you want, or align just right.

Of course you can use the sizing tool for an individual object. But I used the grid lines to create a true size ruler that I could print and cut, and use in my Etsy shop listings!

If you were going to do something like this, you could also add images, different decorative lines or elements, or even add your logo!

Today’s Tip: Use Grid Lines for Accurate Spacing

  • Click the top left blank space outside the canvas to turn grid lines on and off
  • Create a rectangle 1×4 inches (or the size you want for your ruler)
  • Create thin rectangles to mark the inch lines, and then half inch lines (and more if desired) using the grid lines to get them exactly in the correct location
