Have you ever picked a font that you really like, but it’s just too skinny to cut well?

Try using the offset feature to thicken up those letters!
In the above photo, the first “vacation” is the original Backroads font. The second line shows an offset being added of just 0.028 inches. Then select that word and the offest created, and click Weld. That produces the thicker third “vacation.”
Today’s Tip: Use Offset to Make Letters Thicker
This is useful when a font doesn’t have a bold option, but you want it to stand out more, or be easier to cut.
UNRELATED: We had a pipe leak in our main floor bathroom, and the water went into the wall and into our family room floor. We’ve gotten it fixed but now are about to start dealing with drying it up, insurance adjusters, and repair costs. Fun times – I’m sure many of you have been there!
