I think everyone has one day of the week that’s crazier than all the rest.
Every Wednesday my two girls go to a school program that’s located at a different elementary school than they usually attend. They work with kids from other schools, get to do a lot of problem solving and creative thinking, and they love it. There’s even a bus that takes them so I don’t have to do any extra transportation for them. Which is great, except that bus comes at 7:10–a whole hour and 40 minutes before they usually catch the bus!
That means Wednesday mornings are pretty rushed for us. Instead of having their regular list of chores to do in the morning, I get them up early and all they have to do is get dressed, eat breakfast and brush their hair and teeth. And even that can be pushing it 🙂
Jimmy Dean Pancakes and Sausage on a stick to the rescue! (You can get them with blueberry pancakes too) We got to try them this week, and they ate a hot breakfast faster than they usually eat a bowl of cereal! I like that they get some real protein, especially on these days that start so early for them.
From the girls: “They are so delicious!” I really liked them too. This means I can munch on one while I’m helping them put together lunches and backpacks. Plus, if we ever get really behind and miss the bus, they can take one of these in the car while I drive them to school!
I snapped this picture of the Jimmy Dean Pancake and Sausage sticks in Walmart, and you can see they’re currently right next to the corn dogs–but this month they’re moving spots to the frozen breakfast aisle. They’ll be easier to find! Jimmy Dean even has a Pinterest account where you can find links to all kinds of recipes and other fun stuff.
So now that you’ve seen one of my tips, what have you found that gets you smoothly through fast, crazy mornings?
