{Wood Slice Ornaments}
Natural items are every where in home decor, and when it comes to decorating for the holidays it’s no exception. I’ve seen coasters, parts of centerpieces, and even used as wreaths on a front door. These wood slice ornaments are cute, easy and make great gifts too!
You need:
- A branch to cut up (it’s cheaper than buying wood discs from the crafts store, but you could do that too)
- Twine
- Vinyl
Cut the branch into slices that are about 1/4 inch thick, and about 2 inches across.
Drill a hole in each one. Use a drill press if you have one, it makes it so easy! Otherwise, try to clamp down each piece while you drill so it doesn’t fly out from under than the drill.
Sand the faces just a bit if needed. Cut different images out of vinyl and add to the ornaments.
Loop twine through the holes–start with a small loop. Then tie on a larger one that will actually hang on a branch. This will keep it from twisting sideways on the tree.
I did a white nativity, turquoise deer head and JOY with glitter vinyl.
So go find a branch somewhere are make some of wood ornaments up for gifts or for your own tree.
