Please welcome my friend April today. From her personality to her projects she is cute, cute, cute! She’ll make your life prettier and easier, so be sure you’re following all her great ideas! You’ll probably find a favorite even in the pictures below.
Hi guys! I am April from illistyle, where I love to share crafts, DIY, and decor to help make your home more hospitable for your family and guests. I am all about helping you make your home more comfortable through easy projects and tips. I am so happy to be here sharing with you all because Steph is amazing. She is as sweet and authentic in real life as she comes across on her blog. I am so blessed to call her a friend and to be here with you all today.
I am teacher, a camp director’s wife, mom to a precious little girl, a former expat, and a lover of wreaths. They are my favorite craft to make and I love sharing my secrets with you through tutorials. Since wreaths are the first thing a guest sees when coming into my home, I love to change them for each season or holiday to greet my guests cheerfully before they even step foot through my door. One of my favorite wreaths is my 5 minute Rainbow Wreath which literally takes 5 minutes to make and one requires a premade wreath and hydrangeas. Easy right?
Once people are inside my home I love to have personal decor touches that are functional. One of my favorite crafts are these wood-burned coasters. They are an easy craft because the wood slices come from pre-cut from the craft store.
I believe in beautiful and functional decor, that’s why I make over this big ol’ spice rack into a beautiful jewelry holder. This previous eye-sore is now a lovely and functional place to display jewels.
I also like to personalize parties. I made these felt animal masks for Halloween. And since I am all about sharing the love, I even made printable templates so you can make them too!
I am also always on the look-out for tips and tricks that can make my life easier. Aren’t we all?! When I find really good tips I make sure to share them with my readers. Like how to create a Day Of Moving Kit or How to Pack Carry On Only (even international travel!) Yep, that’s right, I am a notoriously light packer, and I only take carry-on, even when traveling internationally. As a former expat (US resident living abroad) I traveled a lot and needed to figure out how to avoid excessive lines in airports. So I share all my travel tips and tricks with you.
Thank you to Steph for letting me hang out with you guys and share some of my favorite projects! I hope that you’ll take a minute to stop by illistyle to discover ways you can make your home more cozy, and follow along with us on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter! Any friend of Steph’s is a friend of illistyle.
