Make DIY index dividers for pretty binder organization. (some links affiliate)
Hey everyone, Happy New Year! I hope you had a great Christmas and holiday celebrations. We’re back in the swing of things over here as my husband’s back at work, my kids are back to school after break, and my online classes started up today too.
Even though my classes are online, I still take a lot of notes and have to write lists for myself to keep track of when different things are due.
And we all know that organization is a lot more fun when it’s colorful and pretty! Enter Sharpie markers and printable coloring pages- Color Me Inspired by Dawn Nicole
I made custom index dividers for my school binder by printing out some pages onto white cardstock. Then I had a relaxing afternoon of coloring them with my new Sharpies.
To make the index tabs, I use printable sticker paper and cut the tab shapes with my Cricut (search Design Space for “index tab” and you’ll find several tab shapes to choose from.
Before attaching the tabs to my pages I colored and labeled them for my different classes (you can see I labeled the front and the back).
Then you just stick one edge down to the front of the divider page and fold it over to the back. It sticks to itself, and the cardstock, creating a perfect tab!
The last step is to add the holes. If you have a 3-hole punch, just punch it and your done. I don’t, so I trace the 3 holes from a regular piece of notebook paper and punch with my single hole puncher.
With the dividers complete, I added them to my notebook, and I’m ready to learn more about HTML, CSS, Typography and Online Business.
Even my middle-schooler got in on the action and made a binder cover!
The possibilities really are endless. Use this idea for school binders, home organization binders, and more! What would you use these colorful Sharpies for?

What a great idea! I'm always more inclined to use something when it looks pretty and these are so personal.

I love the tabs!! So cute! I've made my own dividers, but my tabs always look junky. I'll have to try them with your idea!
