A few days ago while Meagan was at dance, Asher and I wandered outside to walk around. Really, he was being so crazy that we couldn’t stay inside the studio anymore. There’s a Hallmark store around the corner and Asher let me carry him in (anyone knows that’s not the kind of store you can let a 2-year-old loose in, and of course we didn’t stay long) Anyway, in one of their displays they had a big cardboard chandelier that I thought was so cool. So I decided to make my own.
I had to cut it out in pieces, since I designed it to be bigger than a piece of cardstock. I cut each piece several times so I could glue layers together to make it a little sturdier. At each intersection I glued some stabilizer pieces.
The whole thing got spray painted blue, and then again with glitter spray that I got on clearance after Halloween. If you handle it, it will come off, but I didn’t worry about it since it’s just going to hang in the corner of the girls room. A roll of toilet paper was the perfect stand for it while it was drying.
Then I hung it with invisible thread from the hook that was already in the ceiling. Yep, another use for them!
