Looking for ideas on how to decorate windows for Halloween? I’m showing you the easy spooky window eyes I made, plus a bunch of other window ideas for you too.

I used:
Black posterboard (I bought 3 sheets from the dollar store at 69c each)

X-ACTO Knife
and a Self Healing Mat
(or you could use cardboard) to protect your work surface

Yellow tissue paper
Tape and glue

Cut your posterboard into strips that will fit in your window and cover them completely…but don’t tape them in yet.

Lay the strips out on a cutting mat or piece of cardboard and cut out some spooky eye shapes with the x-acto knife.  You can find some images online for reference, or even print some out to trace exactly.  But you don’t need perfection here.

Cover each cut opening with your colored tissue paper, securing with tape.  Cut small circles and ovals to glue onto the tissue paper as pupils in the eyes.

Put the posterboard up into your window and tape in place.
Here’s what the front door looks like during the day.

Then when the sun sets and the lights are on in the house, we get this.

You’ve still got a couple weeks to get your windows dressed up for the holiday, and here are 13 more ideas for how to decorate your windows for Halloween.
