Rainbow St. Patrick’s Decor

I partnered with Oriental Trading on this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Hey guys, St. Patrick’s Day is just a little over a week away, but there’s still time to go order these items from Oriental Trading Company and get them in time for your rainbow party!

I want to show you how I used everything I ordered, and hopefully give you some good ideas of your own. First up is the awesome rainbow fringe. It’s actually a table skirt, but I hung it up as a colorful backdrop instead. The shamrock shapes are actually shamrock fans. Hang them up like I did, or pass them out as fun favors!

The LUCKY balloons are totally fun. They have little holes on top and come on a string to get hung up as a banner. But I decided to take them off the string and tape them to my table so they’d stand up. It was the perfect addition. And you should know, they come shipped totally flat and deflated. Inside each letter is a small pouch that you pop when you’re ready to use the balloons. It causes a chemical reaction inside and the balloons auto-inflate!

Green polka dot lanterns and gold chocolate coins make some great “extras” on the table. I ordered rainbow swirl suckers and poked them down into a faux concrete block (made out of foam) so they would stand up.

I made another rainbow treat with rainbow colored chocolate balls layered in a clear plastic tube. Then I made some print-then-cut rainbow stickers using my Cricut.

Finally, I bought some cute little green popcorn boxes and filled them up with Lucky Munch. It’s a super simple recipe that is sure to keep all your little Leprechauns happy.

LUCKY Munch Recipe

4 cups Lucky Charms cereal
5 cups Corn and Rice cereal combined (like Chex or Crispix)
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup chocolate chips (semisweet or milk)
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup powdered sugar
Extra Lucky Charms marshmallows pulled out for decoration at the end

Measure cereal into a large bowl. In a smaller microwave save bowl, heat butter, peanut butter and chocolate chips for 1 minute. Stir. Heat an additional 30 seconds if needed. When mixture is smooth, stir in vanilla. Pour over cereal and stir to coat. Pour into a large plastic zipper bag and add powdered sugar. Shake to coat. Portion out into popcorn boxes and top each box with few of the plain marshmallow charms.
