Secret Life of Pets Craft

This is our dog Zoey. She’s a Chihuahua mix we got from the Humane Society almost 3 years ago. She loves sitting on laps, chasing balls and sticks and occasionally finding a way to sneak out of the backyard into the front yard.

Last night we took the two younger kids (the oldest is at camp this week) to see The Secret Life of Pets. Have you seen it?

The kids were thoroughly entertained and couldn’t get enough of the dynamic and rebellious pets in the movie. It’s fun to think of what all our pets might be up to when we leave for work, school, or just errands during the day.

In specially marked boxes of Big G cereal you can get collectible figures of all the main characters in the movie. I think my kids’ favorites were Gidget, the naïve Pomeranian and Snowball, the bunny, and leader of the flushed pets. There are some unexpected friendships and thrilling scenes that will keep all audiences excited.

We even made a cardboard pet house to play with our new little friends.

The cardboard kit was provided to us, but you could do something similar with shoeboxes or other cardboard you have around your house. We painted the walls and windows and used washi tape to decorate the roof. Lucky Charms were a perfect crafting snack.

Take a second to watch this video, then tell me what kinds of pets do you guys have right now and what do you think they like to do while you’re out of the house? Do you have any funny stories to tell?
