Green Chair Makeover

I received paint for this project, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’ve had this chair for several years, and it’s been through a couple of makeovers already. It was time for an update, and I knew the current blue color would look great showing through a green top coat. Just for fun I also tried a video of the process, so you can watch that too if you want.

I painted two coats of Luscious Lime Country Chic Paint over the whole chair. My first plan was to just do one coat, but some blue was showing through the brush strokes.

You might like that look and could leave it at that. I wanted more contrast between the green and the blue spots, so I put on a second coat. It went on super fast.

After the second coat had dried about an hour, I took a wet washcloth and started rubbing away some of the green paint. Take off a little at first, see if you like it, or if you want more of the base color showing through keep going.

Then I just kept working around the chair until it was distressed as much as I wanted. Since I used the All in One paint, I didn’t do any wax or top coat over the chair, but you can if you want.

I hope you like how it turned out! It’s a great project for a sample jar of their paint, to see if you like it. I used a little more than half the jar to do this whole chair. If you want to watch how it all came together, here’s the video:
