Between me and my two girls, we’ve got a lot of long hair in this house. And that inevitably causes problems in our vacuum. If you’ve ever taken a pair of scissors to your own vacuum brush, you know just what I mean. Does this look familiar?
The Eureka Brushroll Clean™ with Suction Seal®, available at Walmart, has a self- cleaning brushroll that gets rid of dirt, debris and tangles all with the touch of a button. And now that my vacuum cuts hair, I don’t have to. Talk about an exciting discovery! I can keep styling all the long pretty hair that lives here.
My 11 year old currently loves side ponytails– here’s how I do a simple side twist. Take a section of hair opposite where the pony will be. Twist it towards the face. Grab another section of hair, twist toward the face again and lift over the first section. Continue around the back of the head, including the old twist in each new section of hair. Secure with an elastic when you get around to the other side.
My 9-year-old loves braids, but her hair is so thick they don’t often stay very well. So I will braid the two front parts of her hair, pull the edges to flatten it out, and pull them across the back of her head like this. Secure with bobby pins and hair spray.
Then for me, I love wavy curls. My hair is naturally pretty straight, but it takes a curl with my flat iron really well. After a day of regular curls, I’ll brush it out the next morning and it keeps this really nice wave! To keep it from going too flat, I use a small volume brush to tease my roots then set with hairspray.
So who is the long hair culprit at your house? Whether it’s your own hair, or long pet hair that’s been getting your vacuum in tangles, you no longer need to fear that the only solution is a buzz cut.
